Calling Local Artists: Mural Contest
Grace & Flavor is a deliciously welcoming gathering place for great food, coffee, connection and community. Its mission is to hire, train, support and place neurodiverse adults (18+) in the workforce and provide opportunities for all to interact, shift perceptions, contribute skills and strengths, and bring people together.
All interested parties in Northwest Arkansas are eligible to submit a mural proposal. Artists in particular, both new and experienced, are encouraged to submit.
This color mural must be creative, durable and represent our diverse community. The artist will be given a brick wall that is already painted white as the canvas. The wall is on the backside of the 117 W. Emma building in Downtown Springdale. Permanent anti-graffiti coating will protect the art when it is complete.
The theme is focused on representing the beautiful, diverse community in Springdale – multiple cultures, ages, walks of life, and abilities.
The prize of the mural contest is a total of $1,000 including the design and completion of the mural on the wall. Entrants must submit an estimated budget of artwork expenses, such as materials or equipment. The cost of purchasing or renting these items will be covered up to $200. If the selected artist does not have mural experience but wants to contribute their design, $500 will go to the artist and $500 will go to the muralist. Mural experience is required for the installation.
